7. Tesla Tech Time

Tesla aims to change the world by pushing all electric cars.  They make pretty good vehicles, getting super high safety ratings and having features like "autopilot",  they sure are causing a lot of stir in the car market.  Porsche has just released an all electric vehicle to rival the Model S, Honda claimed to be pushing for battery development as well as others.  Tesla is changing an immovable industry.  Now I would claim they are still in the early adopters stage due to there only being 182,000 of them on the roads today.  For reference, Toyota sold almost 2.5 million vehicles in 2018 alone.... granted, Tesla is a much, much smaller company and had just released their flagship, more affordable Model 3 first getting launched in mid-2017.  While this comparison is huge in margin, it is important to note that Tesla is catching on, and with their second factory opening in China, they are set to start ramping up production on more cars very soon.

This is a great example of the diffusion of innovation theory because it shows that Tesla is converting the car industry to start investing in electric vehicles.  This is a monumental shift for an industry that has relied on gas engines since its' birth.  It may not be fully fledged at the time of writing but I am sure Tesla is going to do some great things in the future... if they can ever change the design of that god-awful truck!
